Why this design works
The ghosts are drawn as flat silhouettes with two dots for eyes, which is the only reason they survive being reduced to a 2 inch cupcake disc. Detailed Halloween artwork turns into a smudge at that size; a shape you can recognise from across a room does not. The midnight violet ground is also deliberate — it gives you the Halloween register without the ink-heavy true black that dries slowly and prints closer to brown-grey on edible sheets.
What to put in the centre
The blank centre is the point of the design. These are three that work, and why:

- One word is all that stays legible on a 2 inch disc. This is the default for a reason.
- “Rosie is 6”
- A birthday falling near Halloween — the ghosts carry the theme, the centre carries the occasion.
- “Trick or Treat”

What do I print it on?
Cardstock at 250–300gsm for a paper topper on a stick, or an edible icing sheet if it will sit directly on buttercream and be eaten. Edible printing needs a printer dedicated to edible ink — you cannot use one that has had regular ink through it. Print at 100% or "actual size", never "fit to page", which silently shrinks the topper.
Anything to watch when printing this design?
Print a test disc before running a full sheet. The violet ground uses noticeably more ink than a pale design and needs proper drying time before you cut, or the cutter drags the ink.
