Name the theme, the palette, and the composition — "circular border of watercolour meadow flowers, sage and blush, blank centre". End the prompt with "no text": AI models render lettering badly, and the name goes on in the editor where you control the typeface.

Pick a style preset and a square ratio for a round topper. Remove the background if the artwork needs to sit directly on buttercream, and upscale it if the finished topper will be larger than about 5 inches.

What makes a good cake topper prompt?
Four things. Can I sell cakes with AI-generated toppers?
Yes. Images you generate are yours to use commercially, including on cakes you sell, printed toppers, and social posts. What you cannot do is prompt for a copyrighted character or a brand’s logo and sell that — the licence covers the image you generated, not the intellectual property in what you asked it to draw.
Will an AI image print sharply on an edible sheet?
It needs enough resolution first. Multiply the finished topper size in inches by 300 to get the pixels you need — a 5 inch topper needs about 1,500 across. If a generation comes out smaller than that, run it through the print upscaler before exporting. Edible inks also render flatter than paper, so nudge the contrast up slightly before printing.
