Why this size
Dipping adds chocolate all round, so the finished cookie is wider than the 1.75 inch biscuit inside it. Most Oreo moulds are about 2 inches across, a few up to 2.25. Measure the flat bottom of your mould’s cavity — that is the face the image sits on.
A full 2 inch image looks printed-on; a 1.5 inch image with a ring of chocolate looks framed. Both are right — choose by whether the picture or the chocolate is the star.
How to put an edible image on chocolate-covered Oreos

Image into the mould
Lay the printed circle face-down in the bottom of the cavity. - 2
Add a layer of chocolate
Spoon melted chocolate or candy melts over the image. - 3
Press in the Oreo
Push the Oreo in, top up with chocolate to cover it, and tap the mould to release air bubbles. - 4
Chill and release
Chill until set, then turn out. The image comes out on the front, flush with the chocolate.
Tips that save a sheet
- Already dipped them? Stick the image to the set chocolate with a very thin layer of corn syrup or a dab of warm chocolate.
- Measure the bottom of the cavity, not the rim — mould walls taper.
- Plain Oreos in the same order? 1.5 and 2 inch circles can share one sheet in the editor.
